Jazz Inspired at Reva's

2012 has seen a number of changes for Jazz Inspired with the departure of vocalist Sara Harris back to the UK and her replacement by Tanya Maich. In April Sara gave a farewell concert with Jazz Inspired to a large crowd at Reva's in Whangarei. A week later Tanya Maich made her debut with the band at the Kerikeri Jazz Club, Bishop's Wood and followed this in May with a set at the Mangawhai Tavern. An outcome of the Reva's concert has seen the band commit to fortnightly Sunday appearances at Revas - see poster below. The band will also be appearing at the Bay of Island Jazz and Blues Festival in August.

Starfish Cafe

Yesterday we played at the Starfish Cafe, home of Sara Harris, our vocalist. We managed to squeeze our sextet into a corner of the cafe and enjoyed 3 hours of playing in surprisingly nice acoustics. Great pizza followed our performance, kudos to Simon, Sara's husband and his secret pizza base recipe, I suspect. Luka Grbavac from Hold the Phones, joined us for two numbers, Chucho and Killer Joe.
